Richlite — Fretboard, Headstock Veneer & Heel Cap
Richlite is a high-performance composite material made from FSC-certified paper layers saturated in phenolic resin, alternately stacked and bonded under high heat and pressure. Developed in 1943, it has earned a trusted reputation among leading guitar manufacturers worldwide as a premium fretboard material.
FSC certification guarantees that the raw materials used are sourced from forests managed in a sustainable, environmentally responsible manner.
For WELIGHT's aluminum resonator guitars, the choice of Richlite was a deliberate engineering and tonal decision. The material's uniform, high-density structure minimizes unwanted vibration escape from the neck region, allowing the sound generated within the cone to project forward with maximum clarity. Unlike natural wood, Richlite does not expand or contract with humidity and temperature changes, requires no oiling or conditioning, and maintains consistent playability over decades of use. No sharp fret ends. No seasonal adjustments. Pure performance.
Richlite is also a responsible choice — a sustainable alternative to endangered tonewoods such as ebony and rosewood, without compromise in feel or acoustic performance.

Richliteは、FSC認証を取得した高品質な紙をフェノール樹脂に含浸させ、繊維方向を交互に積み重ねて高圧成形した複合素材です。1943年に誕生し、世界の著名なギターメーカーが指板材として採用してきた実績を持ちます。
FSC認証とは、持続可能な方法で管理された森林由来の原材料であることを証明する国際認証です。
WELIGHTがRichliteを採用した理由は明確です。アルミボディのレゾネーターギターにとって、指板の「硬さ」と「安定性」はサウンドに直結します。Richliteの均質で高密度な素材特性は、ネック側からの不要な振動の逃げを抑え、コーン内で生まれた音をより純粋に前に出す働きをします。木材指板のように湿度や温度で膨張・収縮することがなく、オイルアップ等のメンテナンスも一切不要。フレットの引っかかりもなく、演奏性も長期間にわたり安定して保たれます。

Bamboo Laminated Neck
The neck of every WELIGHT guitar is crafted from domestically produced bamboo laminate.
Bamboo reaches full maturity in just 2 to 3 years and regenerates naturally after harvesting, requiring no replanting, fertilizers, or pesticides. Per hectare, it absorbs up to 40 times more CO₂ annually than conventional timber, and its consumption actively contributes to the preservation of rural ecosystems. No rare forests. No endangered species. No compromise.
As an engineered material, bamboo laminate offers exceptional dimensional stability far exceeding that of solid wood. Resistant to warping and seasonal movement, it provides the precision, rigidity, and long-term reliability demanded of a professional guitar neck — and does so with a conscience.
Bamboo Laminated Neck — ネック材
ネックには、国内生産の竹集成材を採用しています。
竹は2〜3年で成長し、伐採後も根から再生する植物です。貴重な森林や希少木材の伐採を必要とせず、同じ面積あたりの年間CO₂吸収量は一般的な樹木の約40倍にのぼります。農薬・肥料も不要で、消費すること自体が里山保全に貢献します。
工業製品として製造される竹集成材は、無垢材と異なり個体差が極めて小さく、品質が安定しています。木材と比較して反りや癖が少なく、ギターネックとして要求される精度と耐久性を高い次元で満たします。頑丈でありながら適切な剛性を持つため、長期間の安定したプレイアビリティを実現します。
